Our first paranormal investigation inside an abandoned hospital was an experience we will never forget. From the moment we were locked inside the building, it was clear this was going to be different from anything we had done before.
From 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., we were sealed inside the dark structure with only limited paranormal investigation equipment and a guide who stayed with us for part of the night. Even with our seasoned guide, the silence closed in around us.
The hospital felt heavy, almost aware of our presence. Peeling walls, dark corridors, and the distant echoes of our footsteps made every movement feel deliberate. Exploring a long-abandoned hospital at night carries a kind of tension that’s impossible to describe unless you’ve experienced it yourself.
The Doll Room in the Abandoned Pediatric Wing
One of the most unsettling areas during our paranormal investigation was the doll room located in the abandoned pediatric wing on the second floor.
Rows of old dolls lined the shelves, their blank expressions catching what little light filtered through the darkness. Among them sat one doll in particular—“Lucy.”
Lucy was kept inside a locked glass case.
According to staff familiar with the building, Lucy had reportedly been found in different locations in the room overnight, despite the building being secured with no visitors present. Each morning, she appeared somewhere new.
Whether this was paranormal activity or simply an unexplained coincidence, standing in that room during our haunted hospital investigation was deeply unsettling.
The Phasma Box Calls My Name
Later in the night, I walked slowly down a dark hallway with my brother just a few steps behind me.
The air felt thick with silence.
Then our Phasma Box, a device similar to a spirit box used in paranormal investigations, suddenly activated.
A calm voice came through the device—clearer than anything we had heard all night.
“Right this way, Mike.”
Unknown Spirit Voice
It said my name clearly. There was no distortion, no radio sweep, and no delay.
Just a direct voice cutting through the darkness.
Hearing your own name called out during a paranormal investigation is something that stops you in your tracks.
In that moment, the empty hallway no longer felt empty.
The Nun’s Quarters and Paranormal Activity
Upstairs we explored the nun’s quarters, a series of small, cramped rooms with low ceilings that created an intense sense of claustrophobia.
Rumors claim a nun once died in this area of the hospital, though we were unable to verify the story through historical records.
Still, the atmosphere there felt different.
During our investigation we captured footage of an orb flying out of one of the nun’s rooms, a moment documented on Sages Abandoned, the YouTube channel where our full paranormal investigations are shared.
We also conducted several EVP sessions in this area while attempting to communicate with any possible spirits in the building, though no clear responses were captured at the time.
The Most Terrifying Moment of the Night
Out of everything we experienced that night, one moment still stands above the rest.
The Phasma Box spoke again—this time stating that it was mocking us.
I asked a simple question.
Was it performing for us?
The response was immediate.
A maniacal laugh echoed through the room.
No static.
No hesitation.
Just laughter.
Moments like this are why many paranormal investigators believe abandoned locations can hold more than just history.
Final Thoughts on Our Abandoned Hospital Investigation
Below are photos from the investigation. I will also be sharing short video trailers, followed by a link to the full paranormal investigation video on YouTube at Sages Abandoned.
Investigating places like this reminds us that abandoned buildings often hold more than just decaying walls and forgotten memories.
Some locations don’t just hold memories.
They hold something else—and they don’t always like being disturbed.
